Manchester City Synagogue Attack Individual Detained Again at Air Terminal
A individual previously arrested in relation to the Manchester Jewish house of worship attack has been taken into custody again at the city's airport.
Two individuals were killed when the attacker, 35, executed a combined vehicle and knife attack at the Heaton Park synagogue on October 2.
North West Counter Terrorism Police reported the thirty-year-old suspect was first detained on suspicion of planning, preparing, and instigating of acts of terrorism.
Authorities indicated he was re-arrested at the city airport on suspicion of failing to disclose information contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000. He has since been released on bail with specific conditions.
Police stated they "do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public following the incident the previous week."
Six people were held in the wake of the attack, with two—one male and one female—arrested in the following hours and then released on Sunday evening.
The next day, investigators stated they had been given additional time to question the other four individuals, who were also detained on "suspected planning, preparation, and instigation of acts of terrorism."
On midweek, authorities indicated they too were scheduled for release but emphasized that "was not an indication the probe was finished."
Also on that day, the force disclosed that the suspect placed an emergency call in which he swore loyalty to the organization calling itself IS.
One victim, 66, and 53-year-old Adrian Daulby died in the attack on Middleton Road in Crumpsall.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound after armed police officers responded to the scene and shot the attacker fatally.
A police bullet also hit a different individual, Yoni Finlay, who is recovering in hospital after an operation.
