Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now secured the prestigious trophy on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the showdown featuring the French league champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck twice late to seize a surprise lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the final seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a 4-1 shootout victory.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the past thirteen years.
